The Ice Princess – Camilla Läckberg

A quiet Swedish coastal town. A childhood friend’s apparent suicide. Secrets that refuse to stay buried.

When writer Erica Falck returns to Fjällbacka after her parents’ deaths, she becomes drawn into the mystery surrounding the death of an old friend. Teaming up with local detective Patrik Hedström, Erica uncovers long-buried secrets beneath the surface of the small Swedish community.

First published in 2003, The Ice Princess is book one in Camilla Läckberg’s Fjällbacka / Patrik Hedström & Erica Falck series. This atmospheric Nordic noir weaves grief, betrayal and hidden truths into a character-driven mystery, an ideal starting point for a new crime-reading obsession.

Perfect for fans of Henning Mankell, Stieg Larsson and Tana French, especially readers who enjoy small-town secrets, amateur sleuth investigations and dark family mysteries. If you liked The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or Faceless Killers, try this next.
