The Thursday Murder Club – Richard Osman

Four friends. A peaceful retirement village. One very real murder.

Every Thursday, four unlikely friends meet to discuss unsolved crimes. When murder strikes close to home, their hobby becomes their first live investigation. Armed with decades of experience, sharp minds and little regard for convention, these amateur sleuths set out to uncover the truth.

First published in 2020, The Thursday Murder Club is book one in Richard Osman’s series. Warm humour, memorable characters and a clever British mystery come together in a story celebrating friendship, community and ageing with purpose.

Perfect for fans of Agatha Christie and M.C. Beaton, or readers who enjoyed The Marlow Murder Club and The Appeal. Expect amateur sleuths, found-family warmth and cozy crime rather than an action-heavy thriller.

Goodreads rating: 3.85/5 from 874,000+ ratings, as supplied. Readers praise its witty humour and strong group dynamics; some find its character-focused pace slower than a traditional thriller.
